Super Sexy Sunday aborted…

by Redneckprincess

I have decided it is time for something new. I am changing up the blog a bit recently, and I think it is time for this to go.

I am not sure why I am done with it. Maybe a little bored, maybe too much of a tomboy, maybe just too damn much work to think of something to be sexy about once a week.

Whatever the reason, I am moving on. I will put something fabulous in place of SSS, something helpful, useful, probably crafty or DYI ish…or maybe something that will include all of the above at certain points.

It will be a surprise.

It will probably be next week, but I can’t guarantee it :) Next week Hannah is coming to stay with me. Tuesday I have more tat work  done, Wed and Thursday will be hanging out with Bill and Hannah, and Friday we head down Island to Sunfest to see Travis Tritt and Aaron Pritchett!!!! Whoot!!!

We are gonna have fun and you KNOW there will be pictures…

So thanks for showing up for Super Sexy Sunday…sorry it’s over, but I am totally over it man…

Trust me, the next thing will be more fun.

And informative.

I have ideas.

A vision if you will…

Stay tuned for more…

and even without the post, have a Super Sexy Sunday my friends xoxoxo

Super Sexy Sunday…

by Redneckprincess

This week I am going to list my five absolutely favorite beauty things, some of them I unfortunately can’t afford all the time, some of them are totally affordable, but they are all fabulous!!

1. Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner…

It is expensive, $25 each (shampoo and conditioner) but it makes your hair feel absolutely incredible and you really only need a tiny amount, like the size of a nickel, even for long hair like mine.

2. John Frieda Collection Satin shine for brunettes…

I have posted about this product before, but I need to say it again. It doesn’t matter what color your hair is, if you want texture and body and amazing smelling hair, BUY THIS!!! It is about $13 a bottle, but lasts for a long time and well worth the money.

3. Physician’s Formula, hide and conceal.

This concealer is seriously affordable, I have really dark circles under my eyes, that I have tried my whole life to cover up. This by far works the best of anything I have ever used. I paid about $7 for it at Walmart.

4. Maybelline’s Lash Stiletto…

If you are like me you HATE clumpy mascara, this stuff is amazing, and never clumps, even when it is nearly time for a new bottle!! I paid about $9 for it at Walmart…

5. La Senza (Victoria’s Secret) Lip gloss…

I paid about $15 for two of them, I have seriously had this tube for ages, it lasts forever, I LOVE it and use it every single day. It comes in different flavors. Buy some, really.

Feel beautiful girls!!!! xoxox

Super Sexy Sunday…

by Redneckprincess

This week it’s about feeling beautiful all the time!!

Well I know we can’t always feel hot, but there are a lot of times when you can, even though you wouldn’t think you are.

I work in a job that is always dirty. Some days from the first five minutes of starting my shift. It is hard to feel sexy when you are covered in dirt and sometimes mud.

So here are my ten tips of the week to at least help a girl feel good about herself, no matter what your work situation is.

1. Smell good. Even when you are dirty, people will notice you smell great!!

2. Always wear makeup, it really does change how you feel.

3. Do your hair, it doesn’t matter if you are going to look a mess by noon…do it anyways.

4. Wear clothes that fit you and look good on you.

5. Smile.

6. Be confident, nothing, absolutely nothing is sexier…

7. Make eye contact, listen to people when they talk to you.

8. Get enough sleep at night, no one is hot when they are tired.

9. Be happy. Genuinely.

10. Live your life to the fullest, and make sure you LAUGH!!!

Have a super day my friends xoxo

Super Sexy Sunday…

by Redneckprincess

Once again I have found the coolest idea ever from one of my favorite sites…Honestly WTF. If you have never been there you really need to check it out…AWESOME :) This is so easy and very very cool…I have yet to make one yet, so I don’t have my own pics…

I have taken this blog from their site and reposted it…enjoy, and really…check out their site, you will LOVE IT!!!

You’ll need:
- at least 2.5 yards of rope
- 2 pieces of leather of a similar color measuring 3.5 x 4.5 inches (we cut a purchased 3.5″ x 9″ leather piece, from Michaels, in half)
- 2 small nuts
- 2 half inch compression nuts from the hardware store
- 4 wooden beads
- a glue gun
- a ruler
- a pen
- a pair of sharp scissors

You’ll start by first cutting fringe into the leather in order to make the tassels. Draw a line 1/4″ from the edge of the length of the leather, which will serve as a guideline. Using the ruler draw parallel lines about 1/8″ apart, along the width of the leather. Carefully cut along those lines, stopping at the guideline each time. (Click images to enlarge)

Add any combination of beads and nuts to the end of the rope, making sure to string the large nut lastly with the opening facing out. Glue the end of the rope to upper left corner of the leather with hot glue. Tightly roll the leather along the guideline.

Close and secure the tassel with just a few drops of glue. Rotate and work the tassel into the opening of the nut; it should be a tight fit. Put a good amount of glue around the circumference of the top of the tassel, and press the wooden bead down into it.

Repeat on the other side of your rope and voila! You’ve just made a tassel belt!

We’ve made it long enough so that it goes around the waist twice but of course, you can make it any length you wish. Thanks to Erica & Tamar for the tutorial!

Super Sexy Sunday…

by Redneckprincess

Once again I have found the coolest idea ever from one of my favorite sites…Honestly WTF. If you have never been there you really need to check it out…it is AWESOME :)

So in keeping with our purse week :) here are the directions to make this awesome bag, and seriously, no sewing and it takes about 15 minutes to make!!

Here is what you’ll need:
- an old t-shirt (the larger the shirt, the larger the bag)
- a pair of scissors
- a safety pin
- a dinner plate

Lay the t-shirt on a flat surface. Start by cutting off the sleeves, using the seams as a guide.

And using a round plate as a guide, cut out a half circle into the neck of the t-shirt.

To create the ties that will cinch the bottom of the bag, cut 2 one inch strips from each of the sleeve scraps. Cut each circular strip open and pull at the ends to stretch them out, creating 4 strings total.

Snip 8 evenly spaced slits along the bottom hem of the t-shirt. I cut 3 in the front, 3 in the back, and one each side.

Attach a safety pin to the end of one of the strings. Starting at the left side of the shirt, thread the string through two sections so that both ends come out from the left hem of the shirt. Do the same to the right side of the shirt with the 2nd string. Starting at the middle slit, thread the 3rd string through the section closest to the left side, under and over the 1st string and through the opposing section. Repeat on the other side with the 4th string. Pull each section tightly, tying the strings into double knots.

You can trim the strings but it is pretty cool just left as is. And . . . your new recycled market bag is finished!

Aren’t you excited to BYOB (bring your own bag)?

Make one for a friend. Easy…and so cute!!
